For years, American sports car manufacturers have only been concerned with straight-line speed. All that mattered was how fast a car could reach 60 mph and how fast it could go down a mile. Eventually, more vehicles began to be imported from Europe and Japan, and Americans learned that there were other things cars could do that would make them fun to drive. Unfortunately, cars made in the United States could not get around the tracks as fast as imports could, and they did not have cars to meet this niche. One of the main obstacles to this was that with their large heavy engines at the front, American cars did not have the steering to handle imports. There have long been rumors that Ford or Chevy will finally make a mid-engined car, but the dream did not come true until the C8 Corvette finally came out in 2020.
With the relocation of the engine, the Corvette finally began to receive the respect it deserved from the rest of the world, and with good reason. Chevrolet’s next move was to deliver the high-performance variation, the Z06, which will debut as a model in 2023. The highly specialized version will be powered by a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that will produce 670 hp, surpassing the previous record. for V8 without turbo, Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series. Performance figures have not yet been confirmed, but Chevy says its new LT6 engine will accelerate the Corvette from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds and down in 11.5 seconds at 129.4 mph. Aston Martin Vantage is both a beauty and a beast. When you look at it, you can assume that everything is a style without content, but you will be wrong. Pairing with a 7-speed automatic transmission also makes everyday driving easier. For the first time, the R8 offers a choice between Audi’s famous Quattro AWD or the RWD option. Italian supercars are not known for their reliability. However, you can feel more confident with a German car that still looks like a supercar. This is also not a car that exchanges performance for comfort, as the interior is built to the specifications of a German luxury car.
6 2022 McLaren 765LT
When it comes to exciting speed and functional design, McLaren cars are hard to beat. After hibernating for several years after the F1, they reappeared with the 12C in 2011 and the amazing P1 in 2013, followed by the 12C, 650S and 720S, considered some of the best supercars of all time. But they were not ready. They took the 720S, removed 176 pounds and added 45 hp. to an already screaming fast car.
The result is 765LT. Like the Z06, it has been significantly modified to use the track and boy, if they understood it correctly. The LT, or Longtail, switches faster and has a more aerodynamic body. It has no air conditioning, but you may not notice when you accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 9.3 seconds and drive on the track at speeds up to 205 mph. You may not want to take it on trips, but when it comes to entertainment, almost nothing but a hypercar can compare.
5 2022 Maserati MC20
This year, Maserati rejoins the game of supercars after 18 years. Recently, they created coupes, sedans and SUVs, but did not make a really special car from MC12 in 2004. MC20 is designed to compete with NSX, R8 and Porsche 911. Unlike MC12, MC20 is produced in the house instead of being Ferrari with different leather.
It is reported that there will eventually be an electric version, but for now the MC20 has what Maserati called the Nettuno engine. This is a 3.0L V6 dual turbo that makes 620 hp. using F1 technology. It has less horsepower than the Z06, but weighs less, accelerates from 0-60 mph at the same time and enjoys a higher top speed. Many believe that its dazzlingly good appearance is better than the C8, and this does not mean that the MC20 Cielo, Spyder version, will be available soon.

Although the GT-R has been around for 15 years, it remains at the top of the Japanese sports car food chain. It had three facelifts to keep its style modern, and was tuned for extra power more than that. 2022 will be the last lap for the gas GT-R and as such Nissan guarantees that its final burning of Godzilla will live up to that name.
2022 NISMO gets its most powerful engine producing 600 hp from a 3.8-liter V6 with twin turbo. With AWD and dual clutch, it is good for 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Many other cars on this list are busy with floating and numb suspensions, but the GT-R is focused on fun, keeping the driver connected to the road. Of course, some of its technology is outdated, but if you’re focused on driving rather than gadgets, the GT-R NISMO is exactly what you’re looking for.
3 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S
For many years, the Porsche 911 Turbos has been at the forefront of sports car engineering and the benchmark that every other supercar aspires to. Porsche is constantly improving the 911, improving its engine, driving dynamics and comfort, while increasing its level of engagement. It’s not incredibly difficult to drive, but it’s also not for beginners. When a car is going so fast, the error threshold is very low.
To achieve this type of performance, Porsche has a twin-turbo flat 6, which makes 640 hp. and is good for an incredible time of 0-60 of 2.1 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph, limited only by resistance. These numbers exceed Z06 in acceleration, and the Turbo S stops faster. Although it is a rear-engined car, it accepts corners better thanks to the fact that it is AWD and weighs almost 100 pounds less than the Z06.
