Ana de Armas is one of Hollywood’s rising stars and has quickly made her way to the A-List. Ana de Armas is reportedly a fan of staying fit and healthy and often puts herself through a pretty rigorous workout regimen before any of her roles in an effort to stay in tip-top shape and look great on camera. 1. She puts her mental health above everything else
Shooting movies back to back can be stressful and it’s important to remember that actors are people too. As such, this excessive strain tends to take a toll on mental health. De Armas wisely chooses exercises that give her a much-needed serotonin boost. In conversation with Vogue USAshe revealed that pilates is her personal favorite.
“I used to go to this beautiful pilates studio very close to my hotel [and it’s] keeping me healthy.”
2. She doesn’t just consume her food, she also enjoys it.
When you’re constantly trying to pile and cut for multiple roles while being short on time, it’s very easy to get caught up in the world of soulless chicken breasts, rice, and broccoli. However, this represents a very transactional relationship between man and food, and De Armas recognizes this. She loves food from her native Cuba and cites rice and beans topped with a fried egg as her ultimate source of comfort.
3. She meditates to calm herself
Taking a break from the stressful routine of an actor is a must, especially for mental well-being. For Ana De Armas, this opportunity to relax and isolate herself comes in the form of meditation.
“I meditate. I like it a lot. When you start doing it and are consistent with it, you realize how much it helps you with all the things that come your way. It’s been a very intense year for everyone and I thought it was important to figure out a way that I could create space to take time for myself to think, meditate, feel good and healthy.”
4. She experiments with new forms of fitness
Much of holistic health and fitness stems from the realization that there is more to fitness than just plain old cardio and deadlifts. For De Armas to be the leading lady is just an added bonus. For her gun-toting Bond girl adventures, that means trying out new, unique fitness styles. Performing stunts, learning weapons and practicing martial arts are a package deal that comes with the role.
“I have to prepare for action films that I do with really intense physical work, training and choreography. I do it from 9 am to 2 pm, then I have a break. On the weekends I go to the shoot and practice shooting the firearms I have to use in the film. I like it a lot.”
Ana de Armas is setting the screen on fire with her many new roles. However, there’s nothing that makes us happier than to know that she loves to take care of herself and really enjoys a healthy balance between work and fun!
