Upcoming guest artist workshops

January 16-18, 10am-4pm: Richard Stevens: Watercolor Fresh &

Free: Richard Stevens’ workshops are informative, challenging and fun. Students will learn techniques and creative use of watercolor tools, including brushes, color mixing, and the water/pigment relationship. There is always a strong emphasis on design elements and principles.

February 6-8, 10am-4pm: Robert Burridge: Contemporary Abstract Figure Painting and Collage: This workshop aims to push participants out of their comfort zone and point them in a new, freer, abstract direction. An undraped model will serve as inspiration for original charcoal and paint sketches. On the third day, participants will create collages from these sketches using tear and paint splatter techniques. Artist Demo via Zoom: January 18, 6:00 p.m

February 9-11, 10am-4pm: Robert Burridge: Abstract Collage Painting: This workshop is aimed at those who have always wanted to paint abstractly but don’t know where to start. Enjoy demonstrations, techniques, basic formulas, compositions and color theory to create more meaningful summaries. Artist Demo via Zoom: January 18, 6:00 p.m

March 20-22, 10am-4pm: Ron Stock: Creating Magic in Your Watercolors: Learn how to break bad habits, break the rules, and unleash your painting style. Each morning Ron Stock will choose a subject and demonstrate his techniques on how to paint a successful watercolor. After his demonstration, he will spend time with each student to help work through any issues they may have and encourage them to find and explore their own unique style. Students will paint until about an hour before class ends, at which time Ron will give his second demonstration of the day. This demonstration will be on the elements of morning painting. Artist Demo via Zoom: March 1, 6:00 p.m

April 3-5, 10am-4pm: Jane Slivka: The Freedom of Acrylic: Students will explore painting still life, landscapes, figures and abstractions. Slivka’s students leave with more than a few canvases in hand; they leave with a sense of accomplishment, a new appreciation for their own abilities, and motivation to keep painting. All skill levels.
