KREFELD, Germany and ZURICH, July 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Swiss battery technology pioneer Battrion AG together with its partner Jagenberg Converting Solution GmbH demonstrated Aligned Graphite® technology at industrial speeds. This important milestone validates Battrion’s technology for mass production.
In March of this year, Swiss battery technology provider Battrion AG and Jagenberg Group with its division Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH announced their partnership to bring Aligned Graphite® technology to the mass market. Today, the two companies announced that they have successfully demonstrated Aligned Graphite® technology on a large-scale coating line at speeds of up to 100m/min. This achievement marks an important milestone in the collaboration between Jagenberg and Battrion as it confirms the feasibility of mass production anode technology.
Achieving this breakthrough comes at a crucial time. As raw material prices rise, cell makers are looking for ways to cut costs while expanding production capacity and further improving battery performance. With Aligned Graphite® Technology, cell manufacturers now have a powerful new lever to address these issues, resulting in greater flexibility in the trade-off between cost and performance. The negative electrodes can be made thicker without adversely affecting the charging speed or can be charged faster with the same energy density, safety and life expectancy.
Jagenberg is proud to announce that its product portfolio of coating lines is now fully compatible for use with Battrion technology. Aligned Graphite® technology can be used by implementing a new pilot or full production line (GWh scale), or by retrofitting existing battery production lines.
About Battrion AG:
