B&G Foods forms new business units and appoints new senior management

Parsippany-based B&G Foods said on Friday that it has set up four new business units and appointed a new management, which will take effect on August 1st, to establish a clear focus and expectations and stimulate organic and acquisition growth.

The four newly established business units are Spices and Seasonings, Dishes, Frozen and Vegetables and Specials.

“These units will determine the categories and brands we will provide and develop, the platforms for future acquisitions, the brands that will work for efficiency and cash flow, and the businesses we can get out of over time,” said Casey Keller, chief executive. director and president of B&G Foods, said.

Jordan Greenberg, who is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, will become President of Spices & Seasonings and will remain Executive Vice President of B&G Foods. Greenberg joined B&G Foods in 1999 and during that time has played a growing role, including as Vice President of Marketing, Vice President and General Manager – Green Giant and his current position. Prior to joining B&G Foods, Greenberg served in the marketing departments of Land O’Lakes and Alpine Lace.

Ellen Schum, currently executive vice president and chief client, will move to president of Specialty and remain executive vice president of B&G Foods. Noise joined B&G Foods in 2018 and during that time has held increasingly responsible roles, including as Vice President of Retail Sales in the United States and her current position. Previously, Schum was executive vice president of sales and marketing, and then chief operating officer of Schuman Cheese. Kristen Thompson, currently Green Giant’s Director of Marketing, has been promoted to President of Frozen & Vegetables and has been appointed Senior Vice President of B&G Foods. Thompson joined B&G Foods in June 2019 as Ortega’s Marketing Director. Just before joining B&G Foods, Thompson was marketing director of Birds Eye Vegetables at Conagra Brands and Pinnacle Foods.

  • Tessie Gallagher, currently vice president of sales, will be promoted to senior vice president of on-site sales. Gallagher joined B&G Foods in 2017.   • Marty Schoch, currently Vice President of Supply, will be promoted to Senior Vice President of Supply Chain. Schoch joined B&G Foods in 2008. Prior to B&G Foods, Schoch worked at Manischewitz Co. in various roles in the supply chain with increasing responsibility.

Bruce Wacha, Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer; Eric Hart, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer; and Scott Lerner, Executive Vice President, Chief Advisor, Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer, will each continue to serve in their current roles.

B&G Foods also announced that Erich Fritz, executive vice president and general manager of the supply chain, has chosen to step down from the company on October 1.
