BLUEgrass Big Benefit Concert at Sugar Pine Point State Park

The Sierra State Park Foundation will host a bluegrass concert at 5 p.m., Friday, August 5 at Sugar Pine Point State Park, with proceeds going to support Tahoe State Parks.

General admission tickets are $35 and youth tickets are available for $10. Parking is $10 and is not included in the ticket purchase.

The evening’s lineup includes Truckee School of Music, Loretta Lynch, Broken Compass Bluegrass and Coburn Station.

Additionally, food vendors at the event include Big Blue Q and Hand Dipped Ice Cream, with beer sponsored by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and wine provided by Highway 7.

Doors to the event open at 4 p.m., and music will play until dark. Ticket sales close Thursday evening.

Live music series at The Village at Palisades

2nd Annual Mountain Lotus Bazaar

Enjoy a fun-filled day at the Mountain Lotus Summer Bazaar in Truckee at 10124 E Street from 12:00pm to 9:00pm Saturday, August 6th.

From 12pm to 5pm local wellness vendors along with arts and crafts vendors. From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, special guest speaker Adam Kimball will present a lecture on Peak Performance: Achieving the Impossible.

Tahoe Backyard presents the Saturday Makers Market from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, August 6th for an afternoon of meeting local vendors, makers, artists and more.

Youth Backcountry Camp Naturalist

The Tahoe Rim Trail is hosting another youth camping trip for ages 12-14 Wednesday through Sunday, August 10-13.

The trip will allow youth to make new friends while learning new rural travel skills while backpacking anywhere between three to six miles a day.

The fee is on a sliding scale that offers multiple different payment options along with scholarship options.

The fee will include food, camping equipment, all necessary permits and transportation to and from the trailhead. Participants only need to bring shoes, clothes and excitement to get outside.

Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Kids Camp

Kids looking for mindful fun can join GyoHarmony Sound and Healing Arts Center for the Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Kids Camp.

From 9am to 1pm on Monday 8 August, children will be able to take part in mindfulness activities and mediations along with exploring around Donner Lake.

After the hike, light snacks and lunch will be served, leading to a music session and sound bath.

Truckee Certified Farmers Market

From 8 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, August 9, the Truckee Certified Farmers Market will be held at the Truckee River Regional Park.

Northstar Bocce Ball Dinners

Northstar hosts Bocce Ball Nights open to the league or guests to enjoy a free game with acoustic artists from 5pm Monday through September 5th.

Additionally, the Overlook Bar will be open and guests are welcome to bring their own food and enjoy the evening at the resort.

Registration for the league has closed, but games will still be held in the evenings and acoustic sets will continue to be played.

Bluesdays at Palisades Tahoe

The Village at Palisades Tahoe welcomes the return of Bluesdays, the free summer concert series featuring top blues musicians from 6:00pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays through August 30th.

The event, located at the Events Plaza, is packed with artists, featuring JC Smith this Tuesday, August 9.

An outdoor blues bar will also be open with beer, wine and spirits. Take-out food will be available from the village’s restaurants.

Seating is limited and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs if available.
