From the season 4 finale of FBI never aired, it’s not exactly clear where the series will pick up for its return in Season 5. One thing that’s certain is that Special Agent Maggie Bell (Miss Peregrym) will return, but not in the opening episodes. Her maternity leave doesn’t end until September, so expect to see her start airing in November.
However, the series will deal with her return, how it affects her partner, Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidane (Zeeko Zaki) and the rest of the team, and we might also see the return of a big bad from Season 4. Stay tuned. But as for the first episode back, we’ll reveal more about that closer to the CBS premiere date.

When will Missy Peregrym return FBI Season 5?
Peregrym was written out of Season 4 early – on April 19 – to accommodate her second maternity leave. For her first maternity leave, Maggie was sent on an undercover mission, but this time, while working on a case, she was trapped in a room where sarin gas had been released, and the OA rescued her just in time to save her life her, but not in time so that there are no side effects. So when she comes back, we’ll see her deal with the aftermath of the poisoning.
Peregrim, who gave birth to a daughter Mela Josephine Oakleyon Monday, June 6, posted that she will be returning to work in September, which means we should see her back on the air in early November.

I am relieved and grateful to be given the space to connect with my family, rest, heal, and be a mom (which is harder than work!). I understand this is a luxury and I wish every mother/parent/caregiver had this too. Thank you for all the love, prayers and support from this community.”

What happened at the end of FBI season 4?
CBS pulled the season 4 finale of FBI in light of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that left 21 dead, as the theme of the episode dealt with school shootings.
The official synopsis for the unaired episode reads: “As the team investigates a deadly robbery that netted a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover that one of the perpetrators is an uncooperative classmate of Jubal’s son. “
However, in the penultimate episode of the season, the team investigated the murder of a retired DEA agent turned hitman and church janitor. At first there seemed to be no connection, but then it was revealed that both victims were scheduled to testify in an important trial against LS-19, and Special Agents Tiffany Wallace and Nina Chase (Chantel VanSanten) clashed over the best law enforcement tactics to track down the hit man.

Are there any? FBI spoilers for season 5?
“A new character will appear,” showrunner Rick Aid said Diversity. “We’ll leave it as a surprise for now. But there’s a new character coming that we’re excited about.”
Aid also says that the new season will see changes in Maggie as a result of her near-death experience.
“Overall, it’s going to be the same Maggie, but an experience like that changes someone, so I think you’re going to see differences in her personality from time to time, in the way she approaches work, the way she probably approaches OA,” , Aid told TV Insider. “Any traumatic event has consequences and changes someone.”
As for The OA, Eid continued, “He’s going to move on, but you’re going to see some of the psychological and emotional ramifications of what he went through in Episode 20. That’s going to be front and center in the episodes, seeing the impact of some of the things , through which he has passed, come to light in the present case. He will continue with another partner, temporarily.
Another possible storyline for season 5 could be the return of Antonio Vargas (David Zayas), who was imprisoned but sought revenge against the team.
“We can reconsider that,” Aid said TV Insider.
