The course teaches the use of CPR and AED for adults and children, CPR for babies, how to relieve suffocation in adults, children and infants and how to quickly get emergency care on the road. First aid covers basic skills in patient assessment, bleeding control, airway management and medical emergencies. CPR: Basic life support for the healthcare provider – One-day sessions from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., July 9, Frederick Community College Monroe Center, 200 Monroe Ave., Frederick. Designed to train healthcare professionals to quickly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality chest compressions, provide adequate ventilation, and ensure early use of AEDs. Students will participate in simulated clinical scenarios and training stations. Students work with an AHA BLS instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing.
