How technology is solving the problem of education for the masses

There is hardly any field where technology has not left its mark. Technology has come as a boon to everyone, especially in times of pandemic when the world has come to a standstill and technology is the only thing that keeps the world going.

Among the many things that did not stop during the pandemic, one was education. Thanks to technology, taking online classes was feasible, making the learning process as convenient as possible when the world was going through a very difficult time. Something is better than nothing, they say, and it’s very true indeed! The process of learning to somehow proceed during the pandemic was much better than stopping education altogether. Thanks to technology, many avenues have opened up in terms of education such as distance learning, online teaching and many more, making the learning process more convenient and accessible to people.

Technology is indeed removing many barriers that previously existed in the learning process. Let’s see how technology is solving problems in the education industry.

  1. Visualization: Children tend to understand things better if they learn with visualizations. Presentations and videos of topics along with descriptive illustrations keep the concepts cemented in the minds of children and make them understand things in a better way. In addition, they are interesting and catchy to watch, which makes the learning process much more interesting and effective.
  2. No overcrowded classes: Some children tend to feel uncomfortable in overcrowded classes. Overcrowding is a problem not only for students but also for teachers. With everything happening online, teachers have the option to take lessons digitally where everyone can learn from the comfort of their home without the worry of traveling to faraway places and studying in a crowded classroom. Sometimes distance also becomes a barrier for some of the children who cannot travel to distant places of study because the distance is too far. Various distance learning courses and the ability of teachers to take online lessons completely remove this barrier and make the learning process much more convenient and accessible.
  3. Innovative Teaching Methods: Teaching through video and audio that have interesting sounds and illustrations makes it much easier for children to grasp the concepts and understand them clearly. Technology has opened up numerous opportunities for innovative teaching that is far superior to conventional teaching methods.
  4. Fun in learning: Learning has become a very fun process rather than a boring one. Gone are the days when learning through books was the only learning process. With the help of technology, various new learning methods have emerged like learning through games, learning quizzes, video games, etc., which have made the learning process very exciting and fun for children.
  5. Continuous access to information: With access to the Internet, students now have access to a wealth of information about everything. Students in rural areas fall behind in many skills because they do not have access to the Internet. Efforts are being made to make the internet more accessible in rural areas as well, so that students there can also access any kind of information they want.
  6. Personalization of Learning: The goal of personalized learning is to tailor learning to the unique needs, interests, and skills of each learner. Each student receives a curriculum based on their prior knowledge and preferred learning styles. Imagine a classroom where there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching to understand what individualized learning is. Not every student goes through the same lessons from the teacher. Instead, the instructor takes each student on a unique journey. Each student’s strengths, skills, needs and interests are taken into account when determining the what, when, where and how of their education.

Some talents can be learned by students at different rates. However, their curricula continue to keep students on schedule to meet school requirements.

This is only the beginning. There are many more to come in the coming years. Technology will completely change the face of education and make the process of learning and imparting education much different from what it is today.
