Lacrosse from Virginia will return most of the starters in 2023

The weekend of the College Lacrosse Championship is ahead of us, and for the first time in four years, Virginia is not one of the last four teams to compete for the Men’s National Lacrosse Championship.

Last weekend, the season and the reign of UVA as two-time defending national champions ended in a brutal 18-9 loss to undefeated and possibly tied-up Maryland Therapins. As expected for the result, it is still quite unusual for Virginia to lose in May. This was the first loss for UVA in the postseason since May 12, 2018.
