DE BRENAN VERNON – Mentor 34, McKinley 21

Mentor Cardinals and 2023 defensive end commit Brennan Vernon opened their season against McKinley at home on Friday with a 34 to 21 victory. The 6-5, 270-pound defensive end was a fixture in the team’s front three. He made several key stops, including an impressive tackle for loss working through two blockers. Vernon kept defenders clean to fly around the field and make tons of plays, and he forced a fumble in the win.
