The Eastern States Exposition announces the addition of Nicole Acevedoof West Springfield, to the organization’s marketing department as manager of communications and social media.

Acevedo graduated from Western New England University in May with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing. During her collegiate career, Acevedo served as assistant editor of The Westerner, the university newspaper, as well as the hospitality chair of the Spring Event, the largest music festival on campus. She also wrote and voiced two scripts for WAMC Northeast Public Radio and was a two-time BOLD Media Festival writing category winner for her prose poems.

In his new role, Acevedo will be responsible for print publications and projects, creating content for all social media platforms and maintaining a positive and effective presence across the digital spectrum.

Freedom Credit Union has announced the appointment of Brian Alvarado as Branch Manager on Main Street in Springfield. In this role, he is responsible for branch deposit operations, development and recruitment, community development, business growth and member satisfaction.

A resident of Springfield, Alvarado earned his associate degree in business administration from Springfield Technical Community College and is part of the Springfield Regional Chamber Leadership Class of 2022. Prior to joining Freedom, he was a bank manager, business professional and on mortgages. He is also a notary public.

Alvarado is active in the community, volunteering for various non-profit organizations and local food pantries.

The board of directors of Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services of Springfield has elected Ayesha Jackson as president. The organization also announced the appointment of Now Ford as director of youth programs.

Jackson, of Springfield, is the business manager for the Springfield Public Library and has more than 15 years of experience in financial services. She is a graduate of Bay Path University, where she earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She also attended the Connecticut School of Finance and Management.

Ford served as community center director for the Police Athletic League in Brooklyn, New York. She has over seven years of experience working directly with youth as well as an after school program administrator. Forde earned a BA in Values, Ethics and Social Action from Allegheny College.

LaRocque, a resident of Enfield, graduated from Western New England University with a degree in marketing communications and advertising. She has more than 15 years of experience in the marketing industry, the last six years with Market Mentors in roles such as Customer Service Manager and Account Director. S

Excel Dryer of East Longmeadow announced this Sybil Jandet joined his team as the new Business Development Manager for Latin America. A current resident of Mexico with extensive experience in supply chain management for manufacturers in Latin America and China, Jandette will be responsible for Excel Dryer’s strategy development and market growth in Latin America.

Jandette, who works remotely, has a certificate in workplace diversity, equity and inclusion from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. In his new role at Excel Dryer, Jandette will work closely with management to continuously monitor and improve the performance of existing distributors in Latin America, build strong relationships with stakeholders in the region, and develop and maintain training plans. Jandette will also review, refine and continually optimize lead generation platforms to continuously increase revenue and specification levels in Latin America. In addition, she will work with inside sales representatives and existing regional distributors to close leads.
