Prisco’s NFL Week 9 picks: Rolling Commanders stun Vikings; Saints upset Ravens; Bucs beat Rams to clinch

I did it. I finally did it.

I had a good week.

That’s the only way you can describe a week where I went 7-0 with my best bets as part of the Pick Six Podcast, 8-7 against the spread with my expert picks, and 11-4 straight up.

This is true. My best bets were undefeated, baby.

Other areas were not as good, but there was progress. 7-0 improves my best bets record to 27-20 for the year, with my ATS record now at 58-61-4 and my direct record at 68-54-1.

For once there is no doom and gloom. Now comes the hard part: trying to do it again.

I say that’s two good weeks in a row. Are you ready for it?

Featured game | Houston Texans vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are undefeated and playing at a high level. The Texans don’t play close to that. But it’s a short week that could challenge the road team. The real challenge with the short week is for teams preparing for the Eagles offense. That’s the difference here. Jalen Hurts continues to play well.

Select: Eagles 33, Texans 13

Featured game | Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are coming off a bye and need to continue their passing game. There were no down throws. They will come back for the Chargers in this one. The Falcons have been a surprise this season, leading the NFC South. They’ll run it all day on the Chargers, but I think Justin Herbert will finally get the passing game going in a big way.

Select: Chargers 34, Falcons 26

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | Chicago Bears vs. Miami Dolphins

This is the second visit in a row for the Dolphins against an NFC North team. They beat the Lions last week, throwing it all over the field. This won’t be such a fast track, which will slow them down a bit. But I still think the passing game will be too much for the Bears. The Dolphins take it.

Select: Dolphins 30, Bears 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Cincinnati Bengals vs Carolina Panthers

The Bengals looked bad in a Monday night road loss against the Browns. The offensive line was manipulated. The Panthers play back-to-back games on the road, which won’t be easy. They play better with PJ Walker at quarterback and I think their defense, especially with that front, holds them in this one.

Select: Bengals 26, Panthers 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers

The Packers actually showed some life on offense last week against the Bills, which is a good sign. The Lions’ defense could be the perfect tonic to really get them going. Detroit can score on offense, so this could be a higher scoring game. Give me Aaron Rodgers to finally put up some numbers and win.

Select: Packers 31, Lions 27

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders play their second consecutive road game while the Jaguars return home after a loss to the Broncos in London. The Raiders failed to score a point in the loss to the Saints, which is concerning. Trevor Lawrence hasn’t been playing well, which is also a problem for Jacksonville. I think that is changing here. Jaguars win it.

Select: Jaguars 24, Raiders 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Patriots impressed by beating the Jets on the road last week, while the Colts lost to Washington in Sam Ehlinger’s first start. The Colts just haven’t been good on offense all year, no matter who’s at quarterback. But last week they showed some signs of life. The Patriots weren’t much better on offense, but I think their defense will win this game. Is near.

Select: Patriots 21, Colts 17

Buffalo Bills (-13) at New York Jets

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

The Jets are coming off a tough loss to the Patriots in which the offense was poor. Zach Wilson should start his game. The Bills can put up big numbers on offense, which they will against the Jets’ defense. The Jets won’t be able to handle it. Buffalo continues.

Select: Bills 37, Jets 23

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Washington Commanders vs. Minnesota Vikings

This is suddenly a big game as the Commanders have won three in a row. The Vikings have snapped five in a row. Minnesota hasn’t blown teams out, but it has found a way. The Commanders defense has been playing better lately and I think it will be the same here. The commanders take it slightly upset.

Select: Commanders 27, Vikings 26

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are in first place in the NFC West, getting there with a good offense while the defense is improving. Arizona has the offense, but the defense is struggling as well. This will be a high scoring game, but I think Seattle’s offense will get the best of it.

Select: Seahawks 30, Cardinals 28

Sunday, 4:25 PM ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams

When the program came out, it looked like the match of the week. Now this is a test of survival. Both teams are struggling. So who can turn it around? I’m going with the Bucs. They’re at home and their offense isn’t struggling as much as the Rams. Tom Brady wins it.

Select: Bucs 24, Rams 17

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, FuboTV)

Featured game | Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans

This is the play of the week featuring Derrick Henry vs. Patrick Mahomes. It’s the runner vs. the passer. Give me the blender. The Titans play their second straight game on the road while the Chiefs have a bye and coach Andy Reid is outstanding after the bye. This is a big advantage for Kansas City, but Henry will keep his team.

Select: Chiefs 31, Titans 21

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, FuboTV)

Featured game | New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens will get some rest after last Thursday’s game at Tampa Bay. They ran the ball over 200 yards in that game. That won’t happen against the Saints defense. Expect the New Orleans defense to continue to play well after shutting out the Raiders last week.

Select: Saints 26, Ravens 20
