ProEV ™ introduces NGen financing in production technologies

ST. LOUIS, June 6, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – As the United States and Canada invest billions in the future of electric vehicles, ProEVTM, a division of Electrical Components International (ECI), received funding from Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) to create industry-leading technology. NGen is an industry-leading non-profit organization committed to building the world’s leading, advanced manufacturing capabilities in Canada by promoting collaborative innovation partnerships among its members.

ProEVTMA manufacturing technology business that manufactures and designs high-voltage cable and wire bundles for industrial and commercial electric vehicles was established by Promark Electronics in response to the transport industry’s growing need for electrification solutions.

ProEVTM from Promark Electronics, a division of ECI, is partnering with MDA Ltd., a leading provider of advanced technology and services to the fast-growing global space industry, and AV&R, an innovator in project robotics and automation. “Funding from NGen will allow ProEVTM to use the expertise of our team, in collaboration with MDA and AV&R, to deliver fast, flexible and high quality products to OEMs of electric vehicles, “said Jared Knecht, President of ProEVTM.

“As we continue to scale up the electric vehicle revolution, we need to have the capacity, speed and quality needed for these safety-critical products,” he added. “This kind of collaboration allows our company to improve our own technology not just step by step, but by leaps and bounds.”

ProEVTM the cooperation has attracted support from NGen due to its potential to help in fast-growing and extremely flexible production environments, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

ProEVTM invests NGen funding in three main areas:

  • Robotic achievements, such as RoboKartTMa training system designed for operators to use the production floor to create a dynamic environment for robotic processes, making robotics accessible and accessible.
  • KonnectAITM Dynamic programming systemswhich uses operational research models to forecast and strategically plan production operations.
  • KonnectAITM Quality, a quality system that implements advanced computer vision models using AI to scan each product and inspect many critical quality areas with ease and traceability. This system allows operators to guarantee the quality of materials and workmanship, which significantly increases the team’s ability to feel confident in the quality of work in ways that are otherwise impossible.

“By integrating these advanced patented technologies, ProEVTM can quickly scale innovation while maintaining our top level of quality control, “said Kiril Zaitsev, Director of Applied Innovation and Technology at Promark.” Investing in technology is important for the safety-critical nature of these products, where our customers seek mandatory … standards never fail. “Investment is an essential part of ProEVTMCulture and DNA’s as a technology business, also proven by the use of ultrasonic welding processes in conjunction with ProEVTMhigh voltage cable.
