Ralston announces an art contest to recycle letters from the arena marquee into a sculpture for the city

A unique art project is underway to renovate the Gateway to Ralston. The city’s arts and creative district wants to recycle the letters from the Ralston Arena marquee. Artists have the opportunity to use these letters to create a sculpture that will replace the current sign at the corner of 72nd and Main Streets. “We hope this will help bring attention to our community’s goal of being a metro destination to experience art and culture while enjoying our small-town charm in an urban atmosphere,” said Chloe Hamel, Ralston Arts and board member of the creative district. Liberty First Credit Union was announced as the new naming sponsor for the arena in December 2021. The winner will receive $3,000. Interested artists can learn more here.
