When we think of the most valuable players in NFL, the focus is usually directly on quarterbacks. However, there are many players in other positions, without which the teams simply can not afford.
For example, a player like Travis Kells comes to mind when considering the value for his team, especially considering that the Kansas City Chiefs exchanged their top successor Tyreek Hill for the Miami Dolphins.
But who else should make the list? Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho shared their best non-quarterback choices.
Aaron Donald and Travis Kells point out the best non-QB
Quarterbacks usually get the most attention in the NFL, but what about other positions? Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho share their list of the most valuable non-quarterbacks.
Acho’s No. 5: Ja’Mar ChaseWR, Cincinnati Bengals
Key statistics: In 2021, Chase played 17 games and made 81 receptions for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Acho’s thoughts: “I chose Ja’Marr Chase because his team reached the Super Bowl, and he was the most valuable person outside the quarterback in his team. Remember, he had a game of 266 yards and had over 1,400 yards of reception, breaking the rookie acceptance record. “
Wiley’s No. 5: Mark AndrewsTHEY, Baltimore Ravens
Key statistics: Last season, in 17 games, Andrews caught 107 balls for 1361 yards and nine touchdowns.
Wiley’s thoughts: “Which tight end had the most receiving yards last year? Which tight end had the most catches last year? When did Lamar Jackson throw the ball when his eyes were closed? Mark Andrews is a beast and he deserves it.”
Acho’s No. 4: Trent Williams, O T, San Francisco 49ers
Acho’s thoughts: “We know Jimmy G is fighting and we know Deebo Samuel collided. Why did Deebo Samuel go up and why was Jimmy G alive to see him? Because of this beast, this monster, this animal, there was an All-Pro from the First Team season. “
Wiley’s No. 4: Travis Kelche, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
Key statistics: In 16 games, Kelche made 92 assists for 1,125 yards and nine touchdowns.
Wiley’s thoughts: “The reason he’s over Mark Andrews is because there is no Cheetah now. When you lose Cheetah, Kelce’s value certainly goes up in that team.”
Acho’s No. 3: Aaron DonaldDT, Los Angeles Rams
Key statistics: Donald played all 17 games for Rams and recorded 12.5 sacks, 38 solo shots and four forced shots.
Acho’s thoughts: “Ninety-eight sacks for his career, he won the Super Bowl, he had two sacks in the Super Bowl, a versatile dude, and he seems to be the heart of his team.”
Wiley’s No. 3: Miles GarethON, Cleveland Browns
Key statistics: In 17 games, Garrett recorded 16.0 sacks, 33 solo strikes and one forced strike.
Wiley’s thoughts: “Miles Garrett is a monster in terms of what he does in front, and he always starts in front. In defense, turning in the corner, he has no weakness. It’s gigantic, it can still bend, it has acceleration, speed, speed, everything. “
Acho number 2: Trevon DiggsCB, Dallas Cowboys
Key statistics: Diggs, in 16 games, had 11 interceptions (the most since 1981) for a total of 142 yards and two touchdowns.
Acho’s thoughts: “The Cowboys ‘defense is not good, but he is, and Parsons is. The Cowboys’ defense was 19th in the Yards Discounts League, which means they bent but didn’t break. Why didn’t they break through? Because Diggs was disrupting routes. “
Wiley’s No. 2: TJ WattOLB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Key statistics: in 15 games, Watt recorded 22.5 jacks, 48 solo fights and five forced fumbles.
Wiley’s thoughts: “TJ Wat has led the NFL for the last two years in sacks. TJ Wat is the best at destroying these quarterbacks in the last two years.”
Acho number 1: Jonathan TaylorRB, Indianapolis Colts
Key statistics: For the entire season (17 games) Taylor threw the ball 332 times in 1811 yards and 18 touchdowns in 5.5 yards of experience.
Acho’s thoughts: “Eighteen hundred yards, eight consecutive games with 100 yards and a quick touchdown, an NFL record, he tied that. Most of all, they were 9-1 when he rushed over 100 yards.”
Wiley’s No.1: Aaron Donald, DT, Los Angeles Rams
Wiley’s thoughts: “How can he be the best player in the game and then not be number one in value as a quarterback? He must be Aaron Donald at number 1.”
