SJSU hosts Colorado State Saturday night on NBC Sports Bay Area

SAN JOSE, CA. – San Jose State football (5-2, 3-1 Mountain West) hosts Colorado State (2-6, 2-2 Mountain West) Saturday at 7:30 pm on NBC Sports Bay Area and KTRB 860 AM from CEFCU Stadium. Justin Allegri, James Jones and Kylan Mills will be on the TV call, and Kevin Richardson and Josh Love will be on the radio show.

  • The Spartans have won four of their last five and are looking for their first win against Colorado State at home since Sept. 15, 2012.
  • Junior defender William Fehoko had career-high 12 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and tied career-high with two sacks vs. Nevada (12/29). Fehoko was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career (10/31) and is the fourth recipient of the honor for the Spartans this season.
  • The Spartans defense had eight sacks against Nevada (10/29), the most for SJSU this century.
  • Senior defensive end Cade Hall recorded his single-game career-high four sacks, including two sacks on back-to-back plays with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter against Nevada. Hall is the fifth Spartan in team history to record four sacks in a game and leads the Spartans with six and a half sacks this season, good for third in the MW.
  • Junior defender Chevan Cordeiro, who was named MW Offensive Player of the Week twice this season (10/03, 10/10), had 170 pass attempts before throwing his first interception as a Spartan on a fumble at Fresno State (10/15) . Cordeiro has nine passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns this season, tying a career high and leading the Mountain West with 1,950 yards passing. No SJSU QB in the modern era has thrown for more than seven touchdowns in a season.
  • The Spartans have just two offensive turnovers this season and three overall. SJSU is number two in the nation with just three turnovers. The Spartans’ turnover margin of +9 is behind only USC (+16), Duke (+14) and Georgia Tech (+12), Louisville (+11) and Coastal Carolina (+10).
  • With a win, the Spartans will be bowl eligible for the first time since 2020. Head Coach Brent Brennan seeks his second game as the Spartans’ head coach and the first head coach to lead the Spartans to two bowl games since Claude Gilbert in 1986 and 1987.

COACH SHOW:

For the first time since 2018, the San Jose Coaches Show will be broadcast on the radio. Justin Allegri will host and have segments each week from the head coach Brent Brennan, special guests and players. You can hear each show Thursday nights at 7pm on KTRB.

Teskes Germania will be the venue for the San Jose Coach Show and will tap in front of a live audience every Wednesday night at 6:00pm. The restaurant is located at 255 N First St. in San Jose and more information can be found here.
