Sessions include:

Keep ‘ethical technology’ in your digital transformation plan

Digital technologies are creating huge opportunities for practices to become smarter, more flexible, more agile and more responsive. But as practices implement new applications, they face challenges that can create ethical and compliance risks. Practices simply cannot be called technologically savvy if they do not think about the ethical implications of how their employees, patients, and others in their ecosystems use technology. This session will help your practice develop a holistic approach to the ethical implications of technology use.

Therapeutic Lasers — Practical Laser Workshop

Pain is the most common reason for consulting a physician in the United States. One in three Americans is affected by chronic pain each year. The number one reason for missed work or school days is musculoskeletal pain. Currently accepted therapies consist of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid injections, opioid pain relievers, and surgery, each of which carries its own specific risk profiles. What is needed are effective pain treatments that have an acceptably low risk profile.

For more than 40 years, laser light therapy (also known as photobiomodulation) has been shown to reduce inflammation and edema, induce analgesia, and promote healing in a number of musculoskeletal pathologies. This session provides an opportunity to experience hands-on demonstrations of laser therapy. This is a “can’t miss” event that will take any practice to the next clinical level.

Using technology to improve patient outcomes

Achieving positive patient outcomes is the number one goal for healthcare practices. Against the backdrop of ever-evolving consumer expectations, rapid technological advances, and the shift from volume-based to value-based care, achieving healthy outcomes has become an even higher priority. Orchestrated patient engagement, engaging patients through every step of their journey with solutions that work together, is the future of healthcare. In this session, you’ll learn how to use your practice’s existing technology to improve patient retention and outcomes.
