The Wisconsin Badgers continue to identify players and add to their 2023 recruiting classes in both football and basketball.
Although there was not much news about the basketball program, the football team made several short lists and also expanded some new offers.
In an attempt to break down all the news and notes that have happened in the past week, here is our weekly recruitment summary.
2023 QB Lincoln Kienholz has Wisconsin in the top 4
Perhaps the biggest recruitment news of the week came from South Dakota quarterback Lincoln Kienholz.
Quarterback with a double threat, which was a selection from all countries in three sports this year, Kienholz reduced his list of offers to four on Wednesday and included the Badgers.
Although it has additional Power-5 offers from Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Washington, Kienholz focuses on hiring in North Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Kienholz is currently the best quarterback target for the Badgers and he will pay an official visit to Madison next weekend. The visit will be a great opportunity for employees to get hired after being offered earlier this month.
Zack Ortworth schedules an OV
One of Wisconsin’s best prospects for 2023 continued and scheduled an official visit to Madison for the next weekend. The talented tight end from St. Louis has numerous visits scheduled for June, but the fact that the Badgers are still alive at the time of his recruitment is important given his level of talent.

Brad Spence includes UW in his top 10
Wisconsin is looking to add more outside defenders to the 2023 class.
Texas outfielder Brad Spence took to Twitter on Friday to post the top 10 ahead of official visits and surprisingly included the Badgers.
It is not yet clear where the 6-foot 2-star will use its five scheduled visits, but Wisconsin is considered a contender. Assuming the Badgers embark on one of his paid trips, he quickly emerges as a name to watch in class, although Jordan Meyer and Tucket Curtis are probably the two best targets in the position at the moment.
Spence’s final list also included Arkansas, Arizona, Cal, Duke, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas and Utah.
Two prospects for 2023 are committed elsewhere
Wide successor Hilton Alexander and safety Damon Walters, both with an offer from Wisconsin, have been hiring from various schools this week.

Alexander included the Badgers in his top 6 last week, but chose to commit to Wake Forest on Thursday. Although he was not the best candidate for UW, the chances between him and Wisconsin were slim, given that he had never visited campus.
Security Damon Walters has chosen to commit to Northwestern following an official visit to Evanston. Wisconsin was a contender for Walters, and many thought he might pay an official visit to Madison this summer.
Camp messages
Many intriguing prospects in the 2023 class, which currently do not have an offer from Wisconsin, appeared on social media to share that they will camp with Badgers in June.
