Yourgene Health launches LightBench Detect to enrich the fetal fraction

MANCHESTER, England – (BUSINESS CHP) – Yourgene Health plc (“Yourgene”, GOAL: YGEN), a leading international group for molecular diagnostics, announces today the launch of LightBench® Detect, the latest addition to his Ranger® Portfolio of technological tools of 26you International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy (ISPD). The company is working closely with its clinical laboratory partners to develop sizing methodologies optimized to improve the performance of liquid biopsy workflows, most notably non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). LightBench Detect helps NIPT providers reduce the call-free rate by optimizing the average fetal fraction. Taking advantage of Ranger Technology’s unique sizing options, LightBench Detect also allows laboratories to consider using EDTA blood collection tubes (BCTs) instead of expensive specialized blood collection tubes (BCTs) in their work processes. to help reduce overall costs.

LightBench Detect is a 3-in-1 clinical electrophoretic tool that offers liquid biopsy and NIPT laboratories the ability to automate the process of selecting and enriching the size of DNA from samples stored for long periods in EDTA BCT. This basic ability is complemented by the ability to perform fragment length analysis and fluorescence analysis for quality control purposes. Fragments of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) of fetal origin are usually long <150 bp, което означава, че изборът на размер с помощта на инструмента може да обогати феталната фракция, за да намали броя на резултатите без повикване или неуспехите при скрининг, което помага за подобряване на общите резултати за пациентите. Използването на технологията в NIPT предлага мащабируем и прецизен избор на размера на ДНК и постига >97% reproducibility, providing constant enrichment of the fetal fraction.

The use of this patented technology, which allows EDTA, will be presented by the Center de recherche du CHU de Québec-Université Laval*. The group is working with Yourgene to compare the fetal fraction in 61 samples collected from a single pregnancy in Vancouver over a two-month period. Samples stored in expensive BCTs had fetal fractions below 4% (total pass / fail threshold) in 12% of the time, while samples stored in cheap EDTA tubes had zero cases of fetal fraction below 4% when combined with size selection. The low fetal fraction in NIPT will result in no result and potential re-sampling of the blood from the pregnant mother. They demonstrated that Ranger Technology offers an alternative solution to using expensive BCTs to stabilize NIPT samples. Yourgene has already made this feature available to the market through LightBench Detect.

Lynn Rees, CEO of Yourgene Health, said:From time to time, technology has emerged that has the potential to disrupt standard workflows for clinical testing and make real improvements in both test effectiveness and the economy and effectiveness of the test. Working with Université Laval has allowed us to deliver LightBench Detect, which radically improves efficiency by giving flexibility to the choice of laboratories around the blood collection tube they use, without affecting performance. We are so excited to expand this opportunity to other NIPT providers
